Getting Started

What is a Graphic Maker?
Have you ever seen some of those "doll makers" online somewhere? Well, the graphic maker that Carnival offers is very much similar to that. In a nutshell, you put a bunch of parts together (kind of like a custom puzzle, but with no absolute "correct" combination) and create unique whatever-you're-making.

There are a number of graphic makers to choose from here, including individual critters (like the CK Border Collies), Sticker Scenes (such as the Vintage Photos and Park Sequence), dress up games (Sea Cats and Koro are some of the favorites), and many more. ;)

Instructions

How Assembly Works:

a) The first thing you should see on every graphic maker [page] under the navigation is either a gray / faded template of the finished product (more commonly used for petz) or a blank square space. This is where you should build your graphic.

b) Down below the building area, there are other catagories with lots of graphics under them. All you have to do to is grab (click and hold) the part that you like and drag it up to the building area.

c) As you find more parts and pieces that you like, drag them over and place them in the correct location.

How to Save (No Transparency):

1) Take a screenshot. Most keyboards have a button you can press near the top (Print Screen or PrtSc).

2) Open up any graphics program. I like to use Paint Shop Pro, but it isn't a requirement. In fact, if it's just a cut-out you're looking for, even something as simple as Paint will do the job!

3) Paste the screenshot into the program (Ctrl+V in PSP).

4) Use the crop tool to size down the image and save (or export) it as a .gif or other format extension of your choosing.

How to Save (Transparency w/PSP):

1) Do steps 1-4 from above. You should end up with the cropped screenshot in front of you. It's advisable to make sure that the image consists of a solid background of some color and the graphic itself. If it is not, the following steps may be difficult.

2) In Paint Shop Pro, there are several ways to obtain transparency. The easiest is to use the magic wand, click on the background, invert the selection, copy and paste a new image, and then export the new image in .gif format.

3) One thing to make sure of deals mainly with small details. MAKE SURE that all feathering is at "0" -- it's important! Also, I ask that you don't remove the little logo from the corner. It's taken *too much* time to put all this together, and all it needs is a little respect. Thanks!
